Product / Ingredient FAQs

What is shea butter?

Shea butter is a nutrient-rich natural butter extracted from the nuts of the shea tree, which grows in Ghana. Packed with vitamins A, E, and F, it deeply nourishes, hydrates, and protects the skin while promoting a healthy, radiant glow.

At R&R Skincare, we use 100% pure, unrefined shea butter to ensure your skin gets the maximum benefits.

What is African black soap?

African Black Soap is Africa’s ancient cleansing secret for ageless skin! It is a traditional, all-natural cleanser handcrafted from plant-based ingredients and helps with deep-cleansing, clarifying, and skin-balancing properties.

You can learn more about African black soap here.

Which products are good for dry skin?

We would suggest trying out our Shea Body Oil or Whipped Shea Body Butter for dry skin. These products are rich in fatty acids and deeply moisturise and nourish the skin, leaving it soft, smooth, and plump.

Should I pick the Shea Body Oil or Whipped Shea Body Butter?

It all depends on your personal preference!

Our Shea Body Oil is lightweight and fast absorbing, leaving your skin with a soft, radiant glow. Our Whipped Shea Body Butter is rich creamy, and deeply nourishing, perfect for dry or extra-thirsty skin.

Liquid Black Soap vs Black Soap Bar, what should I choose?

It is totally up to you and your preference. The bar soap and liquid are equally as effective in aiding in the health of your glowing skin. If you typically prefer using bar soaps, then try our Black Soap Bar. If you’re more of a shower gel person, our Liquid Black Soap is for you!

Are your products suitable for babies and pregnant women?

Yes, our products are for EVERYONE! Every household should have some R&R Skincare.

We would recommend our ‘Pure’ range of products for babies & pregnant women.

P.S: Our Shea Body Oil is known to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Are your products suitable for all skin types?

Absolutely, our products are formulated to be gentle and effective for all skin types, including sensitive skin. If you have specific concerns, please refer to the product descriptions on our website for more information.

What’s the shelf life of R&R Skincare products?

This varies from product to product. On the packaging, you will see a symbol that looks like an open jar – the number inside the jar will tell you how long you have to use the product once it has been opened.

I live in a cold climate and my oil is not pumping...

Due to it being an 100% natural product (with no preservatives) in extremely cold temperatures, our Shea Body Oil may appear to slightly solidify. If this happens, immerse the bottle into a bowl of warm (not boiling) water and your oil will return back that liquid gold that you love.

Does shea oil make your skin darker?

No, that is a myth! It is the sun that makes your skin darker, not shea butter or shea oil. We recommend that you wear sunscreen daily to protect your skin from the sun.
